Where they hide
Redbacks build messy webs in dry, sheltered places: under outdoor furniture, inside meter boxes, beneath pot plants, under deck railings and around children's play equipment. Check these spots regularly through the warmer months.
Why knocking down webs isn't enough
Removing a web clears the visible problem, but the spider usually survives in its retreat and rebuilds within a day or two, and egg sacs keep hatching. Lasting control means treating the harbourage and removing the insects spiders feed on.
